History Edit

2011: Third Echelon Conspiracy Edit

The Washington Monument was briefly used by former Splinter Cell agent Sam Fisher and his war buddy, Victor Coste, as a rendezvous location during the Third Echelon Conspiracy in 2011. When Fisher attempted to meet with Coste in the security screening room center, but the two are delayed when Coste notifies Fisher that the area was being scouted by three undercover agents sent by Third Echelon director Tom Reed. After taking out the undercover scouts, Fisher was finally able to meet with Coste. Coste provided Fisher with vital intelligence regarding Black Arrow, noting that they had recently been providing private security for a company called White Box Laboratories. He stated that it was strange because Black Arrow doesn't normally provide private security. After giving Coste gave Fisher some equipment to use, Black Arrow operatives stormed the Washington Monument fair grounds in HAZMAT suits. They used an excuse of a gas leak to clear the fair grounds of any civilians, making the path back to Fisher's vehicle an even greater challenge. Fisher was able to reach his vehicle and head towards White Box, further investigating the elaborate conspiracy.
