Remote Mines are one of the gadgets that appear in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction. As the name suggests, remote mines can be placed anywhere and remotely detonated per player's choice. Multiple mines may be set at once, enabling the player to clear multiple areas simultaneously, but they cannot be detonated individually. Remember that once you deploy the first mine, the equipment will switch to the detonator automatically, so switch back to mines if you need to deploy more. Guards will not detect these explosives unless they are hit by one, however the explosion created is quite loud and will attract attention. They share a similar purpose to Proximity Mines, but do not detonate when a target walks by. A remote detonation feature is also present in Sticky Cameras, albeit less powerful. Remote mines are acquired by Sam in the Conviction story halfway through the Washington Monument level, where he also receives a portable EMP generator and Five-seveN from Victor Coste. They do not serve the same function as C4 explosive charges present in-game.
