A Dead Drop (also known as a dead letter box) is a means of espionage tradecraft that is used to transact information or items between each other at a secret location without having to actually meet.

In Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the Dead Drop flash drive is a USB flash drive (data storage device) that contains information on The Engineers. They appear in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist as extra objective opportunities for the player to earn more points.

Overview[]

In Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Thomas Gurgenidze had left a dead drop for Robert Blaustein in Morevi Square in T'bilisi Old Town in T'bilisi, Georgia during the Georgian Information Crisis in 2004.

In Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Dead Drops refer to USB drives that are usually hidden in the environment in most campaign and 4E missions of the game. Contained on the USB drives is information, data and details regarding The Engineers. The Dead Drops are sometimes in plain sight, but usually they are hidden somewhere off the main path. They have a distinct beeping sound and visual light flash, allowing the player to find them.

The first room is connected to another room with guards on the opposite side, with a door on the opposite side. (This second room can be bypassed by going to the right.)
